Last week, Facebook announced a new set of applications for devices running under Google’s Android operating system, called Facebook Home and expected to deliver a social-centric experience to all users in the United States starting with April 12.

While it did say that other countries would receive Facebook Home soon after the initial launch in the US, Facebook did not offer specific info on the matter, but it seems that Canadians might receive it within weeks.

According to MobileSyrup, the info comes from Ami Vora, director of Product Marketing, Facebook, although a specific release date hasn’t been provided as of now.

However, just as in the US, the app will be compatible only with a small number of devices, and will deliver a full experience only on HTC First, the only smartphone designed with it on top right from the start.
