Facebook has finally finished moving into its shiny new headquarters in Menlo Park, California, not that far away from its previous home in Palo Alto. But, while Facebook has moved several times for the past several years, it plans to make its permanent home at the new place, which used to house the famous Sun Microsystems campus.

"This morning, the final wave of employees walked through the doors of the new Facebook Menlo Park campus, and my team greeted them with coffee, snacks, and maps to help them find their new desks," Facebook wrote.

"For years, we’ve been moving from one building to the next, but now we finally have a home in this ten building campus," it said.

The company added its own touch to the place, but said that it made the changes with as little impact as possible, recycling and reusing many of the existing elements.

That said, there have been plenty of extensive changes done to the space. For one, in keeping with the company's motto and its modus operandi so far, all of the work spaces are as open as possible.

Walls have been torn down and everyone works together making it easy for teams to communicate and share ideas.

That said, there are times when people need privacy or a place to talk, so Facebook has created hundreds of small conference rooms and mini-kitchens. The conference rooms have glass walls though ensuring that even there, there’s transparency.

"Currently, there are only 2,000 employees in our East Campus, with a vacant lot next door for further developments. In the years to come, we’re hoping for the ability to accommodate a lot more," Facebook announced. Considering that there are plans to grow to as many as 10,000 employees in the next few years, most of which will be housed the new Silicon Valley headquarters, Facebook needs room to grow.
