Windows Phone users can now benefit from a new appealing feature when it comes to sending messages to Facebook friends: the option to message even if the contact is offline.

Previously, the app would not send the message, but would suggest sending an SMS instead.

However, it appears that Facebook and Microsoft made a change to the app, and that it would send the message now, although it would still prompt users on the offline status of the contact. The targeted friend will receive the message when signing in to Facebook.

MiMovilWindows has got the feature on video, and you can have a look at it through the clip embedded above.

The new offline messaging option will surely make a lot of users happy, although no official word on this has emerged from Microsoft or Facebook until now.
