Developer Adam Bell creates neat hack in just one day

Facebook recently launched a neat messaging feature called Chat Heads which, unfortunately for iOS customers, only runs on Android handsets. But if you’re one of the many people who jailbreaks his / her iPhone, you’re in luck.

Bell, a 21-year-old Computer Science major, has created a jailbreak tweak that lets Chat Heads run “on top” of Apple’s iOS operating system, replicating the functionality from Android phones.

“I just got jealous,” Bell tells The Verge. “I wanted them on iOS.”

So he coded up this jailbreak tweak in about a day’s time and released a demo of it to the press. He’s hoping to have a bug-free version available in Cydia in a few days, according to the report.

Bell's tweak currently doesn’t integrate SMS or iMessage texts, but the hacker is convinced “it's almost definitely possible.”

From the looks of it, Bell’s hack uses an Assistive Touch API to put those balloons on top of the springboard. Correct me if I’m wrong.
