Shortly after announcing the upcoming availability of the new Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, Microsoft released a new version of Facebook for Windows Phone.

However, this is not the final version of the application, as Microsoft has a Facebook beta program going, which usually brings new features for a limited number of users.

Unfortunately, the latest version of Facebook Beta for Windows Phone does not seem to add any new features or major improvements. In fact, we can’t be sure what changes it brings given the fact that Microsoft failed to offer an official changelog for this update.

No short statements regarding the latest release have been issued either, so we must assume there’s nothing major worth mentioning.

Those who already have the beta version of the application installed on their devices should check for the update via Windows Phone Store, while new users can now download Facebook Beta for Windows Phone 5.2.4.2 for free via Softpedia.

The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 7.5 and up. Keep in mind that this is a beta app, so you might experience issues with some features or slow performance at times. Stay tuned for more info on future updates for Facebook Beta for Windows Phone.
