The Windows 8.1 version of Facebook is currently the number one app on Microsoft’s modern platform, as it managed to overtake highly popular apps such as Skype and Google Search.

At this point, Facebook for Windows 8.1 is holding the leading spot in the top free category, followed by Pandora Win 8, an application that allows you to listen to music from the Modern UI.

Netflix is third, followed by Google Search, Skype, and Adobe Photoshop Express, all of which have been the top apps in the Windows Store for many weeks.

Facebook for Windows 8.1 was officially launched in October, the same month when Microsoft introduced the new operating system. Facebook is a Windows 8.1-exclusive app and no Windows 8 compatibility is being offered, which means that you need to turn to a third-party client if you don’t want to update to 8.1.
