A growing number of mobile phone users are accessing social networking sites from their devices, and the availability of dedicated applications for them is meant to facilitate this. With updates being pushed often to these mobile clients, it does not come too much as a surprise that users increasingly access Facebook or other online social destination while on the go.

Those mobile phone users who like staying connected to Facebook from their handsets running the BlackBerry OS or Microsoft's Windows Phone platform now have updated flavors of the respective Facebook applications at their disposal.

On BlackBerry, the mobile software has just been made available for download as version 2.0 beta 4, and can be downloaded by all those who joined RIM's BlackBerry Beta Zone.

The new flavor of the app comes with a series of changes in the manner in which the application operates, as well as with a series of other minor changes, which should increase its usability.

The app comes with integration with various other applications and services on BlackBerry devices, enabling users to easily share Facebook content with BBM, SMS and other messaging apps.

The new Facebook for BlackBerry 2.0 beta 4 also sports a better notification system, along with a series of new inbox controls to be used on handsets sporting touchscreen displays.

As for Facebook for Windows Phone, it was brought up to version 2.0, it seems, following the release of version 1.5 a few months ago.

The new iteration of the mobile client sports push notifications, which can be set up in the settings menu. There, users can easily choose to disable the Push Notifications, or to get only Tile count.

Moreover, they can also select which actions they should be notified for, including messages, wall posts, feed comments, photo tags, photo comments, friend requests, and others.

The new flavor of Facebook for Windows Phone is available for download from the Windows Phone Marketplace here.
