A new version of the app is being delivered through the store

The official Facebook client for Windows 8.1 has received another update this morning, so consumers who are running it already are recommended to get it as soon as possible from the store.

The new version of the app comes with sticker store and better caching, which means that it should now load a bit faster and be more stable on both desktops and tablets.

At the same time, it also includes a number of new options, including settings to delete or archive message threads or post a new message as page admin. A message receiving sound has also been added, the official release notes reveal.

Last but not least, the new version of Facebook for Windows 8.1 doesn’t bring any big visual changes, so it looks pretty much the same as the previous builds did, but as you can see, most of the tweaks are made under the hood for better usability and performance.

If you haven’t changed the default Windows 8.1 settings, app updates are automatically downloaded and installed on your device, so the new version might already be there.

Otherwise, if you disabled this particular feature, you need to manually download Facebook for Windows 8.1 to make sure that you’re running the latest version and benefiting from the aforementioned improvements.
