Facebook is expanding the AV marketplace, the showcase page through which Facebook directs users to free antivirus solutions that could protect their computers.

It's not a commercial page, it aims to provide a useful resource to users, many of which may not be too technical or may not even be too aware of the dangers "lurking" on the web.

The page started out with five different tools from Microsoft, McAfee, TrendMicro, Sophos and Symantec, all major names in the security industry.

But Facebook always said that it was going to expand on the idea and now it's done just that with the addition of seven more security solutions for other vendors.

Avast!, AVG, Avira, Kaspersky, Panda, Total Defense and Webroot are now part of the promotion. What's more, Facebook is expanding the page to include mobile solutions as well from Microsoft, McAfee, Norton, TrendMicro and Sophos.
