It appears that one of the Facebook accounts of Palestinian security researcher Khalil Shreateh has been hacked.

The expert became known last month after demonstrating the existence of a Facebook vulnerability on the official account of Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s founder.

At the time, Facebook refused to reward the researcher, arguing that he violated the terms of the bug bounty program. Later, Shreateh was rewarded by the community.

Now, it appears that one of the expert’s own Facebook accounts has been hacked, Hackers News Bulletin reports.

The following message has been posted on his timeline: “I'm not a hacker , I just want to warn Mr Khalil ! He will recover his account soon ... I'm sorry everybody.”

Shreateh appears to have two Facebook accounts. The account on which the message has been posted is the one referenced in the POC video made by the expert when he demonstrated the recent Facebook vulnerability (facebook.com/khalil.iz.sh).

It’s uncertain if the hacker leveraged a Facebook vulnerability to post his message on Shreateh’s timeline or if he simply hijacked the account.

At the time of writing, the message is still available.
