The owners of smartphones running under Research In Motions's BlackBerry operating system have now at least two new software solutions available for download for their devices, namely Facebook 1.8.0.31 Beta and Google Mobile App 3.7.15. The formed reportedly leaked from the BlackBerry Beta Zone, where RIM had it available for testing purposes, while the latter is available for download as an official update for the Google Mobile App for BlackBerry.

Starting with the social networking application available for RIM's handsets, we should mention that the solution does not work too well, at least this is what the guys over at BlackBerry Cool note. In the end, it is a leaked beta version, which might explained why some of its features are not available, even if it was supposed to bring into the mix some appealing new capabilities, including faster load times and video uploading, or the replacing of BIS-E notifications with BlackBerry Push APIs.

Reportedly, Facebook for BlackBerry 1.8 should pack all these novelties, along with others more, but the leaked beta version failed to impress. Moreover, it seems that those who would like to install the application would have to get through a lengthy installation process, which might even freeze the device at certain times.

All in all, it would be better it one would actually sit back and wait for the official version of the application to be released.

In related news, we learn that a new flavor of Google Mobile App for BlackBerry was released into the wild, namely version 3.7.15. No official release notes on the application emerge, and details on what has been changed from the previous version lack. However, the solution might be nothing more than a simple maintenance release, which would include some minor fixes and improvements. Users interested in downloading it should go to http://www.google.com/mobile/ straight from the browser on their BlackBerry devices, a recent post on erictric reads.
