While still waiting for details on
the wedding that made it official for singer Fergie and actor Josh Duhamel, the world has at least one new picture to admire. The latest ad for Mac Cosmetics’ Viva Glam line has just been released and, in all fairness, it’s certainly a sight for sore eyes, draped as she is in feathers of a rich plum shade.
Fergie became a spokesperson for Mac in February last year, and has already been the focus point of one extremely successful campaign. The latest just comes to show that, when the star power of someone like her and the money Mac is willing to invest in the campaign come into play, there is virtually no stopping the company from attaining its goal.
Speaking of which, the aim of the entire Viva Glam campaign is not to solely sell products, but also to raise money to support the fight against HIV/AIDS. At the same time, by using a celebrity, it also tries to raise awareness on the dangers of unprotected relations and of a careless lifestyle. Fergie, on her own admission, is the perfect person to do that, seeing how she too had a troubled youth, marked by heavy drug use and bad decisions.
“I’ve been a fan of the campaign since the early days, and I remembered when RuPaul and Mary J. Blige did it. They pick controversial people who aren’t afraid to speak their mind, and that’s definitely me. I’m very proud to be a part of it.” Fergie said at the time she became the official spokesperson for the brand, obviously well aware of why she had been chosen. “[MAC is] going toward one demographic, and I think I can be very helpful with that,” she further said, adding that she personally knew teens who were not protecting themselves and even bragged about not being caught yet.
“Fabulous Fergie struts solo into the Viva Glam fold with her Special Edition Lipglass. Our newest Viva Diva, with a voice that bridges cultures, genres, and styles, embodies what it means to be modern now. That's Viva Glam VI... Special Edition.” reads the official stand of Mac Cosmetics accompanying the ad.
