Only three days left until the long-expected American premiere of "Sex and the City" will finally take us all by storm and given that the iconic TV program-turned-big-screen-flick has millions and millions of lady fans in its home land, its producers have decided to turn its inauguration into a fully-fledged fashion and cinema celebration. And what better idea, you would think, than come to see the movie dressed up as your favorite character. It may sound far-fetched to begin with, but the four leading ladies are already household names for an impressive number of Americans, so it's only fitting that die-hard fans pay a fun fashion tribute to the quartet that has inspired them for so long.

As a result, the people behind the SATC movie blog put together a series of character-inspired fashion choices, just to get us all started on the right track. Have a look, and start digging through your wardrobes or go on a fun shopping expedition with your girlfriends looking for something that looks like it may be found on the shelves of your favorite character's dresser. If you're looking to channel your inner Carrie, almost anything goes - as long as it's ultra-fashionable. The self-style fashionista is rumored to go through no less that 81 wardrobe changes in the movie, so there's a lot of freedom to guide your choice. As for Samantha lovers, form fitting dresses and bandage dresses in solid colors are a staple of her style, so why not try one that fits your body shape?

For the Miranda type, fabrics are of the essence, with the character favoring high waisted dresses worn with wide belts, as well as silky patterns. A purple dress worn with a gold belt is a perfect combination to get that high-powered yet vulnerable look that so well befits her. Finally, for those who adore sweet Charlotte, anything that channels the vintage Audrey Hepburn glamor is welcome: pastel skirts, sleeveless wrap dresses, anything that looks sophisticated, yet simple and comfortable is a good way to begin. Have a moment to ponder which one of the four ladies you're closest to and give this fun challenge a try - you're bound to have lots of fun playing dress-up.
