Peter Molyneux, who is the leader of the Lionhead development team and probably one of the most outspoken developer in the world of video games, has suggested that Fable III might not be the last title set in the world of Albion, saying that he will deliver more experiences as long as fans respond positively to the end of the game.

Speaking to Inside Xbox when he was at the Eurogamer Expo, Molyneux stated that, “Forget about the word 'trilogy'. I hate limiting ourselves to a trilogy. I want you to feel that you're on a journey in Fable and I'm not going to tell you what happens at the end of Fable III but I don't think you'll feel in any way that you've reached the end of a trilogy.”

Fable III is set in the world of Albion and will see the player begin as the brother of the tyrannical ruler of the land, who demonstrates his cruelty early in the game and forces the main character to become a revolutionary leader.

As the game progresses the player will have to gain allies and then actually overthrow the king and take his place.

Molyneux has stated that the second half of the game, which involves the player being the actual king, will be just as engaging as the revolutionary bit, with the player making world influencing choices as he decides which allies to keep close now that he has the power.

The developers have said that one of their aims has been to create a more streamlined experience, one which eliminates traditional role playing tropes and makes it easier for players to get into the game.

Fable III is at the moment said to arrive on October 29 on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and a PC version is also in development, although it has been delayed to a yet unspecified date, with a lot of sources claiming that it was canceled outright.
