Fable II is definitely a title that turned quite a lot of heads when it was launched. Hyped up as a game which offers players complete freedom and a wide variety of choices affecting their character, it delivered on quite a lot of the initial promises and gained praise for its innovative features.
Developed by Lionhead and published by Microsoft Game Studios, it is an Xbox 360 exclusive, which puts players in the shoes of a normal character in a fictional land he can explore any way he can. From which weapons to use to whom to marry, everything can be decided by players.
We reported recently that a post on the official Lionhead blog said that fans had to get ready for a
big announcement regarding their beloved game. Although a lot of people speculated that a DLC (Downloadable Content) pack would be unveiled, nothing was confirmed by any Lionhead or Microsoft official. But now it seems that the announcement has been made, and the rumors were true, as Fable II will be receiving a whole new territory that can be explored by players.
Entitled Knothole Island, this DLC pack will hit the Xbox Live Marketplace on December 12, at the price of 800 Microsoft Points. This new adventure will task players with saving the remote island of Knothole which is under a grave curse that makes it unable to see the Sun. The player must embark on quests in order to unravel the mystery and bring back the sunshine to the inhabitants of the small island. This add-on will also consist of three new dungeons, as well as a variety of items which will further enhance the experience of the players.
In addition to this priced pack, a small free portion of DLC will also be available for users on December 12. It will offer a number of consumable items which will help players in their quests. Those who have bought the game will also need to be on the look out, as Microsoft stated that it would offer interesting gifts to players, which range from Knight's Boots or Assassin's Gloves to a special Weight Loss Potion or a collectible silver book.
All in all, some very interesting stuff which will surely make all of the 1.5 million players of Fable II quite happy and keep them entertained this holiday season.
