The end of 2008 was full of blockbuster game releases, most of them sequels, which became very popular with fans and profitable for the companies that launched them. From these titles, the RPG (Role Playing Game) genre received a few interesting ones, like the critically acclaimed post-apocalyptic Fallout 3 and the medieval-based Fable II.
Now, after the announcement of the first expansion for the Xbox 360 game, it seems that a new patch will also be unveiled for Fable II. Although it was promised for quite
some time, it seems that the Lionhead development team will finally release it and, hopefully, resolve any and all problems that players encountered when they went through the various quests and missions in the game.
From the game-halting Abbot Monastery to the fact that you can finally unlock the items that you received either by ordering the Collector's Edition of the game or by playing on the official Fable II website, everything will be resolved. Here is the complete list of fixes, as found on 1Up:
- The Ritual/Monk's Quest – Fixed the issue with the Abbott becoming unresponsive if you leave Oakfield before he finishes talking. This will fix the problem if you've already hit it, too.
- Rescuing Charlie/Rescue My Baby – after rescuing Charlie, you are now able to interact with objects
- Guild Cave chest – resolves any issues with previous inability to retrieve items unlocked from Limited Collector's Edition, website or Chicken Kickin' game. If you've already hit this bug you should now get your items.
- The Spire (Pt2) – no more issues with ship captain being unresponsive
- The Hero of Skill (Pirate King) – you'll no longer get stuck during Hero of Skill quest (Bloodstone)
- T.O.B.Y./Trouble In Bloodstone – you'll no longer get stuck during T.O.B.Y. quests (Bloodstone)
- Your child will no longer be chosen as an assassination target
- Furniture Shop in Albion (Bowerstone) will now always have something for sale
-Additional unspecified fixes.
Now all that's left for the Fable II players to do is to start up their Xbox 360 and let the game download the patch and apply it. Until the
Knothole Island DLC (Downloadable Content) arrives, at the end of January, you can still be able to enjoy all of the quests that are found in the original game.
