Fable 2, the much talked about
Peter Molyneux game, has a clear release date. It will be launched in North America on October 21 while Europe will get the game on October 24. Microsoft reps say that they are taking pre-orders for the game now and offered the details regarding the Collector's Edition of Fable 2.
The game concept is pretty simple. You take the role of young hero in a fantasy world and make choices to turn that character into a heroic champion, a villain or anything else you can think of. Lionhead has added elements such as marriage, children, a real estate market and more options for character development in the game.
Those that pre-order the title will get free access to the
Fable 2 Pub Games that will be launched on Xbox Live Arcade sometime next week. For those who did not pre-order the Pub Games, they will cost 800 Microsoft Points, which is around 10 dollars, but by playing them, you can get money and treasure that will later be usable in the game.
The Limited Collector's Edition of
Fable 2 will be sold for 79.99 dollars and will include a variety of bonus items. There's a DVD which includes a "Making-of Feature" starring Peter Molyneux and five printed Fate Cards, which are told to be able to foretell the destiny of the hero and the story of his encounters with the various enemies and allies in the game. There's also a collectible figurine of Hobbe, an in-game monster that stalks travelers and kidnaps children.
The Limited Edition also comes with a 48 hours Xbox Live Gold Trial, giving the player a taste of what the service can offer in the way of a multiplayer experience and there's some bonus in-game content for those that get it, in the form of a new dungeon, a new weapon and other goodies.
