14 DAY TRIAL // FX Photo Studio Pro, a powerful post-processing photo editor for both professional photographers and amateurs, has been released in the Mac App Store.
Originating as an iOS application, FX Photo Studio has been re-scaled for the Mac with a wide range of high-quality photo effects, and other enhanced functions that take advantage of keyboard & mouse input, as well as the bigger screen.
It offers a total of 159 effects divided into 20 categories. Highlights include Lo-Fi and Cross process; Sketches and Textures; Color fantasy and Glow; Vintage and Grunge; TiltShift and Blur; Hollywood FX and Color Strokes; Night Vision and Comics; Vignettes and more. According to MacPhun, the publishers of FX Photo Studio, the tool was thought out by usability professionals and professional photographers.
The end result was an elegantly simple design that lets you have all the tools within the eye reach, the company says.
Any of the 159 effects can be combined, and users get to see a preview of how the effect looks on the image, via a customizable interface.
Additional functions include the ability to compare original and resulting image, label favorite and save combinations of effects into presets, layer effects on one image as you like etc.
There are also 15 fully customizable color correction and photo editing tools like Exposure, Brightness, Saturation, Hue, Color Balance, Levels, Sharpen, Crop, and Rotate.
FX Photo Studio standard supports images up to 16 megapixels, doesn't import RAW, and lacks some adjustment features. It goes for $14.99 now that it’s on sale 25% off. FX Photo Studio Pro supports importing of images of different formats, including TIFF, JPG, PNG, CRW, RAW, CR2, RAF, MOS, and more, with a resolution up to 32 megapixels. This one is purchasable for $29.99.
