Space-based adventure game FTL: Faster Than Light is the Weekend Deal on digital distribution service Steam, which means that players can get the title for 50 percent of its normal price.

Gamers need to pay just 4.99 dollars or Euro in order to get access to one of the best indie-made games of 2012.

The deal is only available until Monday at 10 AM Pacific Standard Time.

The official description of the game says, “In FTL you experience the atmosphere of running a spaceship trying to save the galaxy. It's a dangerous mission, with every encounter presenting a unique challenge with multiple solutions.”

FTL was one of the first video games to be funded via Kickstarter and has received a number of awards, praising its unique gameplay mechanics, which allow players to control all aspects of a vessel that explores hostile space.
