With all the new, high-tier hardware coming about, gamers and enthusiasts will naturally look for suitably mighty PSUs, and FSP Group decided to offer the Aurum series of 80Plus Gold-rated models.

80PPlus Platinum may be the highest efficiency rating currently possible, but very few PSUs actually got it, like a 500 W model from Huntkey.

As it stands, 80Plus Gold is still the highest rating that gamers and enthusiasts can hope for while also getting a high enough wattage.

That said, FSP Group was just said to have completed a collection that ranks high in terms of durability, not just power output.

It bears the name of FSP Aurum and, in tune with its name (Latin for Gold), bears the aforementioned 80Plus Gold-certified logo.

The series currently has four members, of 400W, 500W, 600W and 700W, respectively, all of them being compatible with the ATX12V v2.3 and EPS12V v2.92 standards.

The Hybrid Synergy 12V rail design is employed, two such rails being available on the 400W and 500W PSUs, while the 600W and 700W ones have four each.

105 °C Japanese capacitors are another asset, as is the MIA (Multiple Intelligence Ability) processor, which delivers all of the high-end protection and performance functions available.

There is also active PFC (power factor correction) and a FDB (fluid dynamic bearing) PWM fan with a diameter of 120mm.

All in all, the newcomers have an efficiency of 90 percent and, while their prices were not mentioned, the five-year warranty backing them was.

Once they get officially launched and begin to show up for sale online, they will engage competing solutions from the likes of Cooler Master, Cougar, Enermax and whatever other company meets or raises the stakes in the meantime.

Either way, there is a high chance that FSP Aurum models will be on show during the CeBIT Expo, set to occur in early March.
