Image-Line Remote 1.2 is officially out in the iTunes App Store for iPhone and iPad. Similar to Apple’s own Logic Remote software, Image-Line Remote lets you control FL Studio and Deckadance from an iPhone or iPad, allowing you to link your favorite instrument and effect plugins, create shortcuts, etc.

Installed on over 50,000 devices since its January debut, Image-Line Remote is best described as a user-configurable virtual MIDI controller for FL Studio 11 and Deckadance 2.

“Just open FL Studio/Deckadance on your computer plus IL Remote on your iDevice and the connection is made automatically over a Wi-Fi network,” FL Studio explains.

The Belgian developer released version 1.2 today, offering an all-new “trackpad” mode for pads. This enables music makers to employ ILRemote as a virtual trackpad to control the mouse pointer on the computer.

A new “shortcut” pad mode lets you send any keyboard shortcut to FL Studio and Deckadance, while the “breath” controller allows you to control a parameter using the device's microphone.

Controls can now be dragged in and out of containers and the custom scale editor has been moved to the layout settings, making it usable with both the keyboard and the harmonic grid.

Users who download ILRemote 1.2 also get new piano roll shortcuts presets, a new font size setting for control labels, a battery level indicator, channel selection for accelerometers, improved scrolling, and various assorted bug fixes.

Requirements include FL Studio 11.1 (or higher) Deckadance 2.3 (or higher), Android 3.0 or higher, and iOS 5.1 or higher. Download ILRemote for Android on Google Play or ILRemote for iOS the iTunes App Store.

In related news, Image-Line announced today that it is offering the last update to FL Studio 11 packing a new free synthesizer that also works with FL Studio Mobile on iOS, and some other freebies.

Image-Line’s Scott Fisher tells us, “As part of our ongoing development of FL Studio 11.1 marks the last update for FL Studio 11. It includes Image-Line remote support [...] and MiniSynth a free synthesizer that is compatible with FL Studio Mobile (iOS, Android will follow later).”

Scott says FL Studio 12 will introduce a full vectorial GUI “and we are keen to start public beta-testing.” More details about the beta will be provided at a later date.

Deckadance 2.3 is also available for download on Windows computers. The DJ mixing app introduces Image-Line Remote support and a range of Smart Panels. A single channel version called Deckadance Solo is in development and will be shipped with FL Studio as a bundle.
