FKA Twigs continues to make headlines, and not just because she happens to be dating one of the hottest young actors of the moment, British heartthrob Robert Pattinson of the “Twilight” fame. In a context where almost every pop star is manufactured after the years-old “recipe,” FKA Twigs, as an artist, is a breath of fresh air.

Her most recent video, for the single “Glass & Patron,” is proof of that.

It was released the other day and was directed by Twigs herself (this is the second video she directs on her own), and yes, it’s just as weird and beautiful and interesting as her entire work.

At the beginning of the video, Twigs is shown in a van in the woods, where she births rainbow scarves. These scarves turn into dancers and the scene becomes a catwalk, with Twigs paying homage to Madonna’s “Vogue,” by repeating over and over “hold that pose for me.”

As with every other FKA Twigs video released, the conversation around its possible meaning is pretty heated. Many commenters are convinced that, with this video, she’s pledging her allegiance to the LGBT cause, fighting for equality in the artsiest, most beautiful way possible.

Of course, voices saying she’s just “trying too hard” to be noticed can also be heard.

Below is the video: watch it and see for yourself what the fuss is all about. *Please note that some discretion is recommended because the song contains mature language.
