Just as I've finished writing the article on
Wii equals Xbox 1, as
FIFA producer Tim Tschirner reckons, I found this piece of news saying that the Wii version of FIFA 08, will feature a game mode designed and created exclusively for
Wii called Footii Party with
Ronaldinho. It kind of
answers the question as to whether FIFA is becoming a "fun" Wii title also.
FIFA 08 cover athlete Ronaldinho, one of the most talented and recognizable athletes in the world, will become the first professional football player to appear as a customized character exclusively for the Wii, as Electronic Arts has confirmed today. With this game mode, EA introduces unique party games – including Table Football and Shoot Off – where you can play as your self-created Mii character to unlock Ronaldinho and take on the champ. Each Footii Party game is created as a multiplayer, social experience designed to engage and entertain fans of all ages.
So I guess that answers my question then. FIFA 08 for the Wii is launching to be a "fun" Wii title, but that's not entirely bad. People love everything that’s funny and simple, so why wouldn't EA take on Nintendo's winning recipe?
Here are Ronaldinho's comments on the character: "My character looks like he enjoys playing football and shares my passion for the game. This is important to me. Whether you are playing football on the pitch or my party games in FIFA 08 on the Wii, it should be a fun and enjoyable experience."
Remember Wii fans, exclusive for you is Ronaldinho's Footii Party (doesn't this sound a little odd?), a game mode designed and created especially for the Wii. FIFA 08 is developed by
EA Canada, and it is scheduled for a worldwide release this fall, on all platforms.
