This summer's World Cup final may have very well earned its place in the history books. One of the greatest
footballers of all times retired in shame, after head-butting one of his opponents on the pitch. Zinedine Zidane and Marco Materazzi were the two men involved in the incident.

Both of them received international penalties and had to pay for their wrongdoings. Zidane for his head-butt, Materazzi for insulting his opponent. Still, despite the two meeting with the FIFA officials, Marco and Zizou never shook hands ever since that 9th of July.

Of course, the incident now seems unimportant, since the media already "squeezed" it for almost a month. But FIFA is not happy with resolving the matter in football terms. The world body also wants for the two to still be able to talk to each other and shake hands when meeting.

"We are working on getting together Materazzi and Zidane to bring an end to this story. They could go to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was in prison. It is a pity, I have to say, when a World Cup final ends with a red card", said Sepp Blatter, the FIFA president.

Materazzi made the first step less than a week ago, when admitting that he insulted Zidane's sister before receiving the head-butt. Moreover, the Italian is now waiting for Zizou's apologies over claims that Marco insulted the Frenchman's mother.
