The team at EA Sports in charge of the FIFA 16 launch is announcing that the coming football simulation will now include women's national teams, with a wide array of nations able to play against each other when the title launches on September 24.

The studio will include 12 teams for gamers to select from, and the lineups will be available in the Kick Off, Offline Tournament and Online Friendly modes.

EA Sports states, "With all-new in-game animations, 3D player modelling, and life-like head scans - Women's National Teams are authentically represented in the game. From running motion to facial animations and hair movement - players will look and move just like they do during real competition."

The women's national teams that will be featured in FIFA 16 include USA, Germany, France, Sweden, England, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Spain, China, Italy, and Mexico.

The attached video for the football sim shows some brief glimpses of gameplay but is more focused on the atmosphere of the game.

The soundtrack is "Grunge Bond" as performed by Deap Vally.

EA Sports makes it clear that women's national teams in FIFA 16 cannot be used to play against any of the male teams in the title because this does not happen in any real-world competition.

FIFA 16 will need to deal with the recent football scandals

The inclusion of the women's national teams in the new title is a great way to show how football is evolving and how inclusive the sport is at the moment.

The decision from EA Sports has already attracted criticism from some male members of the fan community, but most will welcome the chance to experience another facet of the sport.

Unfortunately, the announcement of FIFA 16 takes place during the same week when a big scandal hit the world of football, with a number of officials arrested because they were involved in fraud linked to the organization of the World Cup.

FIFA 16 will be offered on September 24 on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and the PC, and older devices will probably get Legacy versions of the title.

EA Sports will soon offer more info on the changes that it plans to make to the core gameplay and to the Ultimate Team mode.
