Gamers need to check the links on which they click

All players who are affected by the current transfer issues associated with FIFA 15 need to be on the lookout for a number of scammers who are at the moment aiming to get personal information from members of the community by luring them into using websites that are not actually associated with the support network of EA Sports.

The Twitter message chain quoted in the article is just an example of how accounts with names similar to that of the studio are jumping in and promising a number of Ultimate Team packs, worth quite a bit of money, as a reward for those who are affected and are waiting for a fix.

Gamers need to carefully look at the links they are asked to click on and make sure that they only deal with the official EA Sports account when it comes to redeeming any kind of free content.

The scam accounts have also been promoted by news sites that failed to spot the fact that they were not actually part of the official support network for the football sim.

At the moment, the company is investigating problems associated with the transfers in FIFA 15 and plans to have a fix delivered as soon as possible.

Gamers on both the PC and home consoles are reporting that they are having trouble buying and selling players, with their attempts frozen in the final stage of the process when they should receive a Completed message.

The official EA Sports account will offer updates when the process is completed, but it seems that it might take until tomorrow.

FIFA 15 and the issue of security

Before the new football title was launched, the developers talked about the fact that this was the most secure installment in the series ever launched.

EA Sports wants to make sure that scammers and cheaters are eliminated from the community as fast as possible so that the playing field for normal multiplayer and for Ultimate Team remains level for as long as possible.

FIFA 15 has had a very solid launch and the developers working on it have already launched a big update on the PC, the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, with the community asked to report any new issues they find.

It’s unclear whether EA Sports has any way of forcing these scam accounts to close down or stop their actions or the company simply needs to make sure that gamers are educated about the risks they are facing.
