Video game developer EA Sports announces that it is taking down the recently launched FIFA 15 for maintenance on both the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft for approximately one hour.

The official announcement does not offer a reason for the fact that the game is inaccessible for a short period of time so soon after it was launched in both North America and in Europe.

The company states, “During this time, all FIFA 15 online services for Xbox One and PS4 will be offline. Please stay tuned on Twitter for further information, and thanks for your understanding as we work to improve your experience with EA SPORTS FIFA.”

EA Sports has not said whether it plans to deliver a patch for FIFA 15 in order to update some of the rosters or the stats for players or to fix some of the small bugs that the community has been reporting.

Recently, the football simulation received its launch Team of the Week package for the Ultimate Team mode, which features Cristiano Ronaldo, and many gamers will certainly be unhappy that they are unable to access the online elements of the title at the moment.

PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of FIFA 15 are not affected.
