14 DAY TRIAL // Great news for Windows 8 adopters, as another exciting game has arrived in the store and, what’s more, it’s available for everyone with a free license.
FIFA 14, the famous football game created by EA Sports, is now up for grabs for those who have already made the move to the new modern platform and can be played right in the Metro interface of both desktops and tablets running this operating system.
As you could easily guess, FIFA 14 brings almost the same features on Windows 8 Metro as on the other platforms, including real players, teams, and leagues, as well as a wide array of pass, shot, and tackle combinations. Full touch support is also being offered, which means that you can play the game on your Windows RT tablet as well.
As WinBeta notes, the game comes with a realistic commentary available in multiple languages, such as English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish, while additional options let you create a squad of international superstars with Ultimate Team and buy and sell any of the 16,000 players included in the database.

Although the game is offered free of charge, some built-in features are only available if you purchase the full version. For example, you won’t be able to play the manager, tournament, and kick off modes unless you upgrade the game and unlock the extra features.
Keyboard support is not being offered, so you can play it only with touch, or by plugging in an Xbox 360 controller that would basically turn your tablet into a little gaming console.
An NVidia card 7800 GT+ with 512MB VRAM is also required, but EA Sports says the game is not fully optimized to work with some ATI GPU cards. A CPU with at least 1.6 GHz is also required, and so is at least 1 GB of RAM.
Overall, it’s pretty clear that this is quite a great addition to the game portfolio of Windows 8 users, so you should download FIFA 14 right now and give it a try on your tablet as soon as possible. Most content is offered for free, but for the full experience some in-app purchases are also needed.
