FIFA 14, the football simulation from EA Sports, is back at the top of the United Kingdom video game chart for the week that ended on February 8, and will probably enjoy another month of supremacy before the big launches of March arrive.

The game continues to get constant support from the development team via both title updates and more content for the Ultimate Team mode.

At the same time, EA Sports is working on a special 2014 Brazil World Cup FIFA title that will only be offered on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 on April 15, so we might actually see two games in the same series fight for the number one position.

Call of Duty: Ghosts has also managed to gain a position over the previously tracked week, according to data from UKIE, so the first-person shooter from developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision is in second place.

A new game in the series is being created for 2014 by the team at Sledgehammer and is supposed to deliver an interesting take on the core FPS mechanics.

The last position on the podium is occupied by Fable Anniversary, the remake of the old Xbox title created by Lionhead, the first new entry of this week despite being an Xbox One exclusive.

Tomb Raider: The Definitive Edition, from developer Crystal Dynamics and publisher Square Enix, is in fourth after taking number one during the previous seven-day period, followed by LEGO Marvel Super Heroes.

Grand Theft Auto V, from Rockstar and Take Two, manages to gain two places in order to land in sixth and is followed by Battlefield 4, the shooter from DICE and Electronic Arts, which drops three positions.

The Xbox 360 edition of Minecraft is in eighth place and Kilzone: Shadow Fall has managed to go up one place.

The United Kingdom top ten is closed down by Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.
