The development team at EA Sports announces that it will be taking down the matchmaking system of FIFA 14 ahead of the Xbox One launch to prepare its infrastructure for the introduction of the new console to the ecosystem.

The company states via a Twitter message that, "#FIFA14 online matchmaking on Xbox consoles will be unavailable for approx. 15min at 2:30pm PT/10:30pm UK to prepare for #XB1 launch."

Although the period is short, some fans have been reacting strongly to the news that their favorite experience will be unavailable.

On the Xbox One, FIFA 14 will be launched with a host of new features, including better gameplay and more expressive crowds, all of them powered by the all new Ignite engine.

Those who have already started careers and built Ultimate Teams on current-gen consoles can choose to transfer all their progress to the new devices from Sony and Microsoft.
