The same update has been offered on PlayStation 4 since February

The development team at EA Sports working on the FIFA 14 football sim is delivering a new update for the game, exclusively for the Xbox One version of the title, which is designed to fix a glitch that has plagued fans of the Ultimate Team mode.

The company states on its official support site that, “The purpose of this update is to resolve an issue where users were unfairly awarded a win or avoided a loss after disconnecting from a FUT match.”

The same update has been offered for the PlayStation 4 version of FIFA 14 since late February and it seems that no other changes have been made specifically for the Microsoft device.

EA Sports adds, “Our commitment to improve the FIFA 14 is ongoing, and regular feedback from our fans helps us prioritize and identify future improvements. Thanks again for your feedback on Twitter, Facebook, and the EA Forums. We’ll continue to provide you with information through those channels as and when it becomes available.”

Recently, the company has worked to fix a number of issues linked to all versions of FIFA 14 that affected the transfer market for the Ultimate Team mode.

EA Sports has not said whether it plans to deliver another big update for the game soon or if it is currently satisfied with the overall state of the game and the balance of the various mechanics.

It’s unclear whether the delay in delivering the patch on the Xbox One is due to a longer certification process that Microsoft puts new content through or if the development team simply does not have the resources to deliver it on both platforms at the same time.

The next-gen versions of FIFA 14 are using the entirely new Ignite engine, which is designed to use the extra computing power of the Sony and Microsoft consoles to enhance the physics engine, the way crowds work and the overall realism level of the title.

When the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 were announced, the teams working on the new tech said that both would make it easier for developers to update their games when players found a big problem.

At the moment, EA Sports is working on a new 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil video game, which is set to be launched in the middle of April on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.

The title will include all national teams and will allow gamers to qualify and then win the World Cup.
