The development team at EA Sports working on FIFA 14 continues to deliver updates on the core mechanics of the title as the launch date draws near and the mechanic that’s now in focus is the new Global Transfer Network that’s available in the Career Mode.

Basically, players will be able to manage a number of scouts who can travel the world and spot talented players before other clubs do.

The development team says, “Clubs will start out with between one to four scouts on staff. Larger clubs will start with a number of scouts, while smaller sides may only have one available. All clubs can eventually hire up to six scouts to evaluate talent, and scouts themselves are rated from one to five stars depending on their influence and ability.”

Gamers will no longer be able to simply browse the transfer interface to take a look at the stats of players.

The team has recently revealed the ratings for the top 50 players in FIFA 14, with Messi being the best at 94.

The Global Transfer Network performance of any club will depend on the quality of the scouts they hire and the parameters that the gamer himself sets.

Up to six traits can be looked for at the same time, giving all teams the flexibility to find the right fit for their line-up and tactics.

The transfer mechanics is also being changed for FIFA 14 and EA Sports adds, “Eligible players can now be signed on a pre-contract agreement in FIFA 14. If a player is over the age of 23 and has less than six months remaining on their contract, they will be free to search for a new club on their own.”

Gamers will also be able to use a new Reject All option that will allow them to essentially take a player off the market regardless of the offers coming from other clubs.
