FIFA 14, the football simulation title from EA Sports, is the number one video game on the United Kingdom market once more just as the European football season ends for the year, while fans are preparing for the June start of the World Cup in Brazil.

The sport-themed game has been performing very well since it launched in September of last year, although the developers have not yet offered a breakdown by platform, mainly because the game engine is solid and because of the impressive ability of the Ultimate Team mode to keep gamers interested week after week.

Second place, according to UKIE, belongs to last week’s winner, Titanfall, the first-person shooter from Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts that combines fast pilots with plenty of options for movement with heavy mechs that pack firepower.

The game has just received its first downloadable content pack, which is designed to deliver more maps for the community, and the developers are also deploying constant updates in order to tweak the balance and keep the experience competitive.

The last place on the United Kingdom podium belongs to the only new release in the top ten, the PlayStation 3 version of indie hit Minecraft, a title that has been performing very well on all platforms on which it has been launched.

The game is also getting updates with new content from Mojang and we might soon see some exclusive content for the PS4, based on Sony franchises.

2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, another EA Sports made football title that only exists on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, is in fifth place and shows no sign of moving in the coming weeks, as the real-world tournament gets going and players use the game to recreate the results of the teams they support.

Call of Duty: Ghosts, the shooter from Infinity Ward and publisher Activision is in sixth place and is followed by The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the movie tie-in that has dropped four positions in order to land in seventh despite its link to the wider franchise.

The LEGO Movie Video game, from Warner Bros. Interactive, is in eight place, down one place, and it is followed by the DICE-made Battlefield 4.

The United Kingdom top ten is closed down by Grand Theft Auto V from Rockstar and Take Two, which have climbed three positions to make an appearance.

LEGO The Hobbit and Marvel Super Heroes are out of the top ten.
