Developer EA Sports has announced how the upcoming FIFA 13 football simulation game would use the unique capabilities of the touchscreen controller that will be part of the new Wii U home console from Nintendo.

Gamers will be able to use the touch controls to adjust their tactics, pass the ball and launch tackles.

They will also have the option to control any player on the pitch as long as they can see him and tap him on the controller.

An opponent player can also be tapped and then the gamer can choose whether to tackle or to mark him.

The touchscreen can also be used for free kicks and for penalties.

FIFA 13 introduces more unpredictability to the gameplay of the series and makes improvements to ball control and the Player Impact Engine.

FIFA 13 will be launched on devices ranging from the PC to home consoles and mobiles in the last week of September.
