The developers want to see a constant evolution in attitudes

FIFA 13, the football simulation from EA Sports, is getting closer to its launch and one of the main developers working on it has revealed how the team is getting ready to evaluate the success of the coming launch.

David Rutter, the main producer working on FIFA 13, tells MCV that, “Metacritic is a very big deal. It’s like your teacher giving you a mark at school. You get your grades and you know what you did. But ultimately, not listening to your fans is a dumb thing to do. For a lot of us, that’s also where a lot of the credibility in what we’ve done comes from.”

The developer also believes that FIFA 13 is the best game his team has ever created even if there is always something more than could be added to the experience.

Rutter added, “This one has got some pretty fantastic things in it and we are extremely happy with it. But I know that within three, four, five months of the game being out, with many millions of people playing it, there will be a massive long list of things we’d want to achieve in the next year.”

For the leader of the FIFA team, each football match he sees is an inspiration, a way of better understanding the game and an occasion to see something more, which could be added to the simulated version of the sport.

FIFA 13 builds on the foundations that last year’s installment created and will focus on the unpredictable nature of the sport, with more mistakes and more surprising on pitch tactics.

FIFA 13 will be launched on September 25 in North America and three days later in Europe, with the PC, the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 set as the core platforms.
