FIFA 12, the EA Sports made football simulator, has managed to easily go past Gears of War 3, the third person shooter from Epic Games, in order to take the number one position in the United Kingdom video game chart.

FIFA 12 comes complete with a new defense system and a new set of options for those who like attacking football but the biggest chance is the Player Impact Engine, which introduces a lot more physicality to the game, although at times it makes player interactions hilarious.

Gears of War 3 might have been defeated in the United Kingdom but the game has managed to save face by only sliding down to second place, ahead of another sports simulation, F1 2011 from Codemasters, which gives fans a chance to rewrite Formula One history for this year with full safety car mechanics and a better weather system.

Zumba Fitness, the dancing and exercise title from 505 Games, has managed to hold its position in fourth, showing that its very good performance during the summer was not a fluke.

Dead Island, the zombie combat experience from Deep Silver and Techland, has arrived in at fifth place, coming down from third, while Deus Ex: Human Revolution, from Eidos Montreal and Square Enix, is continuing to do well more than one month after launch by occupying sixth position, down just one when compared to last week.

The collection which includes Ico and Shadow of the Colossus for the PlayStation 3, with new High Definition mechanics, has managed to come in at seventh during its first week on sale.

Driver: San Francisco, the body swapping racing game from Ubisoft, sits in eight place after coming in at sixth last week while LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean from Disney come in ninth.

Call of Duty: Black Ops closed down the top ten.
