It looks like Toshiba is by no means done with the tablet market, as a certain, upcoming model has just passed underneath the scrutinizing eye of a certain organization that makes sure mobile devices have proper connectivity before allowing them to be sold.

The thing about smartphone, tablets and pretty much every other device that connects to the web is that, at least in the US, they need to get approved by the FCC.

Short for Federal Communications Commission, the FCC has become one of the main sources of product picture and details leaks, since it always posts its findings and decisions on its website.

That said, it appears that a new tablet PC has passed through the FCC's hands, developed by Toshiba.

Some might see this development as somewhat surprising, considering that a certain other slate, Regza AT300, was priced and detailed not too long ago.

The newer model is, so far, called ET100/WT100, but it hasn't really been given an actual name, although this is not that surprising for an FCC filing.

That said, the central piece of the electronic is, as some may have expected, the Tegra 2 SoC (system-on-chip), based on the ARM architecture.

The nature of the leak (focused almost exclusively on connectivity) ended up not revealing the full hardware, meaning that the storage space, among other things, is unclear.

What was, on the other hand, revealed was that USB connectivity is present, along with Bluetooth, 802.11n WiFi and an SD card reader.

Furthermore, the 10.1-inch display is said to possess a native resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels, which will just make the HDMI all that more useful, seeing as how HD videos (1.366 x 768 pixels) won't be really supported by the LCD.

Finally, two webcams exist, one on the front and one at the back, for video calls and photo/video recording, respectively. Those so inclined can peruse the entire FCC filing by visiting this page.
