The FCC has approved Samsung's SGH-D900, the world's thinnest slider handset. The phone has a thickness of only 13 mm and features an elegant design while weighing just 93 grams.

Despite the small size, the phone includes quite a few powerful features. One of these is the 3.13 megapixel camera capable of video recording in MPEG4 and H.263 formats. Pictures taken with the camera can be viewed on a TFT screen measuring 2.1 inch and supporting a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels in 262k colors. Alternatively, the user may opt to see the images on the TV screen, as the handset comes with a built-in TV-out port.

Also included is a music player that recognizes the MP3/AAC/AAC+/eAAC+ formats. In terms of connectivity, the phone features Bluetooth, USB and support for the PictBridge standard which allows images to be printed directly from the phone. The storage space is provided by 80 MB internal memory which can be further extended via microSD cards.

Samsung SGH-D900 is a quad-band phone operating in GSM/GPRS (850/900/1800/1900 Mhz) networks and includes support for the EDGE standard.
