The FBI has conducted searches of Sen. Ron Calderon (D-Montebello)'s office at the Capitol in Sacramento, reports are saying.

A raid has also been executed at the Latino Legislative Caucus office. According to KTLA, Calderon is a member of the Caucus.

Mercury News reported that agents had a sealed search warrant, but there is no information yet about what prompted the search.

FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller has mentioned that the investigation surrounds a case from the Los Angeles area, without naming which case.

"The FBI is executing a federal search warrant at the capitol. [...] No arrests have been made and no arrests are planned. The is based on allegations of criminal activity," she says.
