Over the weekend, Michelle McGee, the tattoo model who also goes by the name of “Bombshell” and whose biggest claim to fame is an alleged 11-month affair with the husband of Sandra Bullock, Jesse James, gave an interview to defend herself and say she’s not a homewrecker as far as she’s concerned. Hours later, it emerged that her ex husband made the startling claim that she had hired a hitman to do both Sandra Bullock and himself.

As TMZ can confirm, the FBI launched an investigation into Shane Modica’s claims, but admittedly came up empty-handed. However, at one point, Modica was convinced McGee wanted to get rid of him and of Bullock, presumably because she wanted to be with Jesse James and saw the two as obstacles for their relationship. Modica came to this conclusion after receiving a phone call from a man who assured him he was a hitman hired by McGee to kill him.

“TMZ has learned the FBI investigated a tip about a murder plot against Sandra Bullock that was allegedly arranged by Jesse James’ mistress Bombshell McGee – but the FBI ultimately deemed the tip ‘not credible.’ Law enforcement sources confirm that roughly two weeks ago, McGee’s ex-husband, Shane Modica, reported that he received a call from a man in Missouri who claimed Bombshell wanted to put a hit on both Modica and Bullock... and the mystery caller claimed he was the person who was supposed to carry out the hits,” TMZ writes.

Moreover, Modica alerted the FBI before the cheating scandal started to play out in the media, which would indicate that he was honestly afraid for his life and wasn’t just trying to get media attention whichever way he could. Luckily, the Bureau soon learned that the man who made the call had mental issues, having been involved in similar incidents before. This soon led investigators to conclude McGee most likely never contacted him.

“Law enforcement sources confirm that the man in Missouri contacted his local FBI office to inform them about the situation – and the FBI then contacted the local sheriff’s office. We’re told the sheriff’s office told the FBI they had prior run-ins with the Missouri caller – a person said to have had a head injury that caused him to ‘lose sense of reality.’ Furthermore, authorities have no reason to believe McGee ever contacted the man. The FBI in Missouri notified the FBI in Los Angeles – but sources tell TMZ that investigators concluded the threat was bogus,” TMZ further reports.
