An editor at The New York Review of Books claims to have found the identity of the elusive “Misha,” the man dubbed responsible of radicalizing Boston bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev.

Mikhail Allakhverdov, whose photos are not featured in the article by Christian Caryl, admits to knowing Tsarnaev and discussing Islam with him. However, he denies mentoring the 26-year-old suspect on Jihad, as original reports suggest.

“I wasn’t his teacher. If I had been his teacher, I would have made sure he never did anything like this,” Allakhverdov responds to allegations on his involvement in the Boston attacks.

The Rhode Island resident adds that the FBI have spoken to him and he has volunteered his phone and computer for examination.

“I’ve been cooperating entirely with the FBI. I gave them my computer and my phone and everything I wanted to show I haven’t done anything,” he says.

Meanwhile, one lawmaker from Texas is suggesting that the brothers have not been working alone, noting that someone must have shown Tamerlan how to build pressure cooker bombs.
