Another Samsung music phone

Samsung brings us another phone, a music one this time: the F250 Music Slider. The handset is already available in Russia and will probably be released in other European countries too, this month or from the beginning of 2008.

Although it's not a high-end device, Samsung F250 looks like one, with a slider design somehow close to Nokia's N81 super phone. Which is not a bad thing at all, if we put aside the lack of originality. Nevertheless, the "mirror aspect" used by Samsung for other handsets, including the more stylish (and more expensive) F330, gives the phone a cool look.

The new F250 is created for a wide range of consumers who might have wanted an affordable phone with music features and sleek design but didn't manage to find one until now. F250 Music Slider brings a music player with special control keys, a speaker that can play tunes at good quality, FM Radio and microSD card support, to boost the memory up to 2GB. Other nice features include Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0.

The phone measures 94 ? 46 x 17.5 millimeters, weighs 96 grams and has a 2.0 inch 65K color TFT display that provides a resolution of 128 ? 160 pixels. It comes with an 800 mAh battery and provides 900MHz / 1,800MHz / 1,900Mhz and EDGE connectivity. Also, a 1.3 Megapixel camera with 4X digital zoom is included, but this is not really a feature to be proud of, as many entry-level phones have such cameras.

Samsung F250 Music Slider will retail in Europe for about 180 Euros. That means $270 (more or less) for the US market, in case a North American launch is to follow. Actually, in case a US launch will not follow, that still means $270. More or less.
