After a bit of teasing, Codemasters has confirmed F1 2013 and has revealed that the new racing game will appear later this year, while showing off three different videos.

F1 2013 is set to deliver an updated experience based on the popular motorsport, and developer Codemasters has just revealed it and the first details about the game.

As always, the new racing experience includes all the updated rules and regulations from the current season of Formula 1, not to mention all the new driver rosters.

"F1 2013 will feature all the cars, circuits and star drivers from the 2013 season, allowing gamers to race as Lewis Hamilton in his Mercedes and Sergio Perez in the McLaren-Mercedes for the first time, and includes all of the new drivers, updated rules, tire changes and remodeled handling to authentically reflect the challenge and exhilaration of racing 2013’s stunning roster of Formula 1 cars," the studio said.

"A range of game enhancements, split-screen and online multiplayer, plus new and returning game modes delivers the most complete Formula 1 experience in videogame history."

What's more, besides lots of up to date content, F1 2013 will also have a Classics mode, in which players can drive against legendary pilots from different eras of the motorsport.

"F1 Classics, introduced by legendary broadcaster Murray Walker, allows players to race iconic 1980s cars from Williams, Lotus and Ferrari against drivers including Mario Andretti, Nigel Mansell, Emerson Fittipaldi and Gerhard Berger, with more to be announced, on classic circuits Brands Hatch and Jerez."

Last but not least, there will be a special F1 2013: Classic Edition version of the game, which includes two more DLC packs with content from the 1990s, including cars, tracks, and famous drivers like David Coulthard, Jacques Villeneuve, Eddie Irvine, or Alain Prost.
