Mac games publisher Feral Interactive announced this week the first Formula 1 game to roll out on the Mac in over a decade - F1 2012, the official game of the 2012 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP.

Slated to launch for OS X Lion and Mountain Lion later this year (no specific date yet), F1 2012 features all the teams, drivers and circuits from this season.

Players will race on 20 recreated tracks, including Silverstone, Monaco, Hockenheim and Monza, just to name a few of the classics. More recent circuits, such as Singapore’s Marina Bay Circuit and the brand new Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, will also be featured in the game.

The “provisional” system requirements include a 1.8Ghz CPU, OS X 10.7.5, 4GB RAM, 128MB graphics processor, and 10GB of storage. As it is usually the case with Mac games, some graphics cards will not be supported, including the ATI X1xxx series, NVIDIA 9400, NVIDIA 7xxx series and Intel GMA series.
