F-Secure will take the burden of securing an organization. Will they succeed?

The Finnish security provider decided to offer its entire business portfolio as a service to companies who want to leave the safekeeping of their data in the hands of others in order to be able to better focus on their main activities.

A few hundred companies around the world already trust their solutions, but from now on they're willing to take the extra step in providing them complete protection.

“As a pioneer of the cloud-based Security as a Service model, it is very satisfying to reach the strategic goal of offering our whole business security portfolio as a service. There’s no doubt that Security as a Service saves companies both time and money. We now see more companies preferring the convenience of the service model,” said Maria Nordgren, vice president, Channel Business at F-Secure.

The best thing an organization can take advantage of is that the offer will not require them to make any hardware upgrades and they can rely on F-Secure to make sure all the safeguarding systems are up to date and fully functional.

“F-Secure partners will benefit greatly from the new multi-device management and new managed services. F-Secure is committed to continuously improving easy to use business tools for the resellers. The first new services will be introduced in early 2012,” Nordgren further revealed.

Their business portfolio covers protection for desktops and laptops, mobile devices, servers, email and web filtering solutions. As methods of payment, the new service will be available by purchasing monthly or yearly subscriptions.

As probably most firm managers would tell you, it would be like taking a heavy weight off their shoulders to let someone else handle all the aspects of enterprise security, but now we'll have to wait and see how well they will deal with all the threats present in the online environment.

Also, I wonder what such a company would do to prevent social engineering attacks that lie at the core of data breaches and which cannot be stopped by any technical means.
