14 DAY TRIAL // The free Online Scanner from F-Secure has been completely re-built in order to make it faster, lighter and more powerful. The tool now includes the ability to detect and clean advanced rootkits.
F-Secure Online Scanner is a small download of 5MB and it is portable. Because rootkits are nasty pieces of malware that boot before the operating system, F-Secure’s application boots into DeepScan (a Linux-based OS) in order to eliminate them.
After the cleaning procedure completes, Online Scanner boots the computer back into Windows, without any user intervention.
“It's small and light, but it's packed with power, detecting the latest threats immediately”, says Kimmo Kasslin, security research director at F-Secure Labs.
