On January 30, 2004, F-Secure launched the first ever antivirus blog. The first post revealed that the company had been monitoring the Mydoom worm, a threat designed to launch DDOS attacks against SCO.com.

The post was published four days after Mydoom started spreading on the Internet. Currently, F-Secure has published over 2,600 articles on its blog.

The blogs maintained by IT security companies play, or should play, a very important part in every Internet user’s life because they contain all sorts of useful information not only for professionals, but also for regular users.

You’ll find in them everything there is to know about malware, scams, spam, data breaches that could affect you, and useful advisories.
