Security firm F-Secure has announced the availability of a new browser for the owners of Windows Phone devices, named suggestively Safe Browser.

The application was designed to keep users safe from various online threats, protecting them from malicious sites at all times.

The F-Secure Safe Browser takes advantage of the company’s cloud-based security service, which also ensures up-to-date protection for Windows Phone users.

According to the company, “sites that try to send you malicious files or steal personal info like your banking credentials will be identified and blocked.”

Furthermore, the company notes that its web browser comes with support for Kid’s Corner, so that parents can rest assured that their children navigate the Internet safely.

“Safe Browser blocks kids from accessing sites with harmful content and keeps them on selected safe web sites,” the app’s description reads.

The main features of the Safe Browser for Windows Phone devices include the blocking of malicious sites (phishing, malware), along with the option to set a desired search engine (such as Google, Yahoo, and Wikipedia).

At the same time, the browser supports separate lists for your personal bookmarks and for the bookmarks for your children, and comes with security overview showing application status.

When it comes to Kid's Corner, the browser offers capabilities such as:

- Protects your children from inappropriate content on the Internet - Allows your children to access the bookmarked web sites only - Protects your children from seeing search results that refer to explicit content - Safe search mode works with the built-in search engines (Google, Yahoo) and is automatically enabled in Kid's Corner

Available for download as version 1.1.1941.2, the F-Secure Safe Browser comes with support for all Windows Phone 8 smartphones out there. Users interested in enjoying more secure Internet navigation on their devices can download Safe Browser from Softpedia today.
