A.J. Clemente became a viral star when he kicked off his first live broadcast for KFYRTV, an NBC affiliate in Bismarck, with a string of profanities. Unfortunately, it also cost him his job but he’s not ruling out the possibility of a second chance.

Clemente was on The Today Show to explain how he came to put his foot in it the way he did – and on his first day, no less. Check it out in the video below.

“I didn't even know I said it on camera until my news director walked in on the third break,” he says. He didn’t have an ear piece and he wasn’t looking at the camera to see the red light for live broadcast.

However, he knows he messed up and he’s not mad at the bosses for firing him because it was a “gut-wrenching” mistake.

“I'm looking forward, moving forward. You got to have a tough skin in this business, and it's good to laugh at yourself,” he says.

He’s now waiting for his second chance and, with the exposure he’s getting right now, I bet it won’t take long for it to happen.
