Chris and Janet Wring decided to a have a more unusual wedding and exchange vows underwater, making sure they will never forget the moment. They took their scuba diving equipment on top of their wedding outfits and proceeded with the unique ceremony.

The couple had been scuba diving for years, this being one of their special things to do. While on one of their adventures, they thought that an underwater wedding ceremony could be the perfect way to mark that special event. They agreed and proceeded with the wedding preparations.

The ceremony took place under the sea in the beautiful Maldives region with “I Dos” and vows printed on waterproof plastic paper, as it was kind of hard to make themselves heard at those depths. The scuba divers wanted to celebrate their special moment with their shared hobbies 39 feet (12 meters) below the surface.

Besides the exotic marine life setting, the ceremony altar had flowers and curtains, a swing-seat and chairs for the guests witnessing the couple's unique wedding. “There was an aisle to swim down and a big welcome sign. My big day was incredibly special. I couldn't imagine a better setting for our wedding,” the 58-year-old bride said according to Metro.

The 63-year-old groom, on the other hand, had another concern, he hoped that the bride wouldn't keep him waiting too long because he could only have waited there until he ran out of air. The couple may have had one of the most amazing weddings ever and the guests were surely impressed.

After the ceremony, a sail boat with the sign “Just Married” was waiting for them in the sunlight at the surface. Even if the bride's gown was ruined after the eye-watering ceremony, she changed into a dry one and continued the party with champagne and cake on the island.

Underwater wedding ceremonies have proved to be very attractive for adventurous couples that want a different kind of wedding, something more extreme and unforgettable. Chris and Janet are not the first ones to tie the knot below the surface, and will not be the last either.
